Free WordPress Migration
Moving hosts shouldn't be a project you have to manage yourself. Free migrations are included with every New Blog Hosting plan, and our team does the work for you.
A white-glove move
Our team helps with the technical work of moving your WordPress site. Start with a support ticket so we can review the current setup, access needed and any dependencies before agreeing the migration steps. Your domain, email and third-party services may need separate coordination.
How it works
- Choose a plan. Pick Basic, Premium or VIP on our managed WordPress hosting page.
- Tell us about your site. Open a ticket with us and describe your current host and site, and we'll plan the move with you.
- We migrate it. Our team copies your WordPress site, database and files to your new New Blog Hosting account.
- Go live together. We coordinate the switch with you and stay available for any questions afterward.
What's included
- Migration of your WordPress site at no extra cost, on every plan
- A free SSL certificate on your new hosting
- LiteSpeed web servers and the LiteSpeed Cache plugin
- Real managed support before, during and after the move
- Custom onboarding if you want extra hand-holding
Plan the timing around your site
Migration timing depends on site size, access to the old host, DNS control and how often the site changes. Ask support for an estimate after the initial review. Keep the old hosting active until the new site and its important functions have been checked; there is no universal completion time or zero-downtime guarantee.
For a store, membership site or busy blog, tell us about orders, sign-ups, comments and scheduled publishing. Agree how changes made during the copy will be handled, including whether a short editing or transaction pause is needed before the final switch. Basic is for personal, non-commercial sites; choose Premium for business use or discuss VIP for priority support and scoped consulting.
DNS and email need their own checks
A website move does not automatically transfer your domain registration or mailbox history. Identify who controls the domain's DNS and where email is hosted. Discuss whether email should stay with its current provider or move, and confirm that any required mailbox transfer is part of the agreed work.
Before changing nameservers or website records, record the current DNS settings and identify mail records such as MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC. Preserve the records needed by email and other services. DNS caches can update at different times, so visitors may temporarily reach either host after a change.
Test before and after the switch
- Review key pages, images, menus, links and HTTPS on the copied site before directing public traffic to it.
- Check WordPress login, forms and expected email delivery. For business sites, agree a safe way to test checkout, memberships and external integrations without creating unintended live transactions.
- After the DNS change, recheck the public site, redirects and email from more than one connection where practical. Tell support the exact page, time and error if something differs.
Agree a fallback before going live
Keep the previous DNS settings and old hosting available while the move is being verified. If a serious issue appears, contact support to decide whether to fix it on the new host or return traffic to the old one. Reverting DNS is not instant and does not merge orders, comments or other changes between copies; those changes need review before switching back.
