Are you looking for a way to reset your WordPress installation? If you re unsatisfied with your current website setup you can always reset everything and start from scratch.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to reset your WordPress installation in the easiest ways possible.

Resetting WordPress means that all the content, media, pages, themes.. will be deleted and the WordPress itself will be taken back to the original state it was in when you’ve installed it for the first time.

Before we get started with the actual steps on how to reset WordPress installation, please create a backup of your WordPress installation first just in case you have anything important on it.

How to Reset WordPress?

There are a lot of different ways to reset WordPress itself, however if you have access to the wp-admin dashboard I suggest resetting WordPress with a plugin.

In case you don’t have access to the cPanel and only to the wp-admin area, this is the option to go through.

There are a bunch of plugins that fit this purpose and here are the most well known:

The first step would be to install the WP Reset plugin and you can do that directly from your admin dashboard by going to Plugins > Add New and search for “wp reset“.

After installing the WP Reset plugin, activate it and navigate to Tools > WP Reset.

On this settings page simply scroll down and type in “reset” in the field than click on the Reset Site button.

A new popup will appear where you simply have to confirm the reset by clicking on the big red button.

That’s it, you’ve now reset your WordPress installation and have a fresh start!
