In January 2002, I registered my first domain name and built my first real website. This rather simple site was for my church and was just a way to get us started with an online presence.

The people who hosted that site were OK but jump forward a couple of years and I had some problems with the hosting and the renewal of the domain name and the service from the hosting company was not great, to say the least. I remember sitting at my desk thinking “Even I could do better than this!”

That thought stuck with me and grew to a belief that I COULD do better. That belief, coupled with a strong desire to get churches online, communicating and reaching out through the Internet drove me to start my own web hosting business.

We launched in May 2004, selling our services through Heavenly Hosts (www.heavenlyhosts.co.uk) and Stoneage Hosting (www.stoneagehosting.co.uk).

Our first customer came in a few days later (and is still with us) and we’ve had a steady stream of business ever since.

We have no plans to become a huge hosting behemoth, prefering the personal touch. My belief is that it is better for me to get to know our clients personally and set up their accounts manually than to automate everything and reduce our precious clients to names on automatically generated invoices.

Through my personal efforts to become a published author and my foray into the world of online social media, I came to recognize a need for cost effective hosting for individuals who want to express themselves through their blogs in a way that free online blogging systems don’t allow.

Hence the birth of New Blog Hosting – the latest string to our bow and our portal for bloggers who are looking to host their own blog, offering a full domain name registration and management service and cost-effect, fully featured blog hosting.
